Met My Demons

Met my demons, in a fork
down a hill,
stayed so still.

They spared my soul , yet again
spilled some blood
lost much love.

I met them on my way back;
left me lone
no sins atone.

‘You’ve lost your heart to another,
bear the pain
it’s all our gain.’

My demons feast on fear that stays,
in a heart not mine,
still I pine.
