LOVE, Poem, rhyme

WHISPERING SHIELDS

Sunlight poured in through a broken pane,

unkept hair fluttered in the breeze;

Ripples in the water broke the glorious mirage,

your scent with outstretched hands I tried to seize.

As my arms embraced none but the air around,

never whispering more than the silent words,

slowly your name escaped my lips, which,

hovering awhile, soon turned to dust.
